About This Activity
Who: Out and About (Criteria: Individuals 13 to 40 with a primary diagnosis of autism are eligible to attend. Out-n-About is designed for individuals who do not meet the communication and behavior criteria for Teen Time or Social Club but still want and need to spend time with their peers enjoying recreational activities. Participants may be non-verbal and/ or exhibit stereotypical behaviors. Students who become physically aggressive when frustrated may not be good candidates for the Out-n-About program.) What: FunBox This location features the World’s Biggest Bounce Park. With 25,000 sq. ft. of continuous jumping zones connecting 10 different play areas. This play area was designed with a kid-first, social media -second approach. Its fun for adults too, with tons of photos ops! Where: Drop off and Pick up: FACT Autism Resource Center 3509 Virginia Beach Blvd Virginia Beach, VA 23452 When: Saturday May 25, 2024 from 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM Why: To provide social interaction and community engagement opportunities to teens and young adults with autism. How: FACT staff will be provided on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis as needed. We are aware that many individuals with autism do not fully understand signs of danger and may be prone to wander if not closely supervised. Please note: price includes staff, admission, and transportation. Concessions are not included. If you would like, please provide your child monies to purchase concessions. Registration: RSVP online a minimum of 48 hours prior to Out & About (please note that space is frequently limited and may be sold out prior to the 48-hour deadline.)
