Description
Drawing: Pastels That Pop! All Levels
Instructor: Fran Seikaly
Learn about value, layering of colors (glazing), use of warm and cool colors
light and shadows to create depth and interest. Work from a still life or use
your own photo for reference. Instruction is individualized within the class.

MATERIALS LIST
- Paper to work on; Canson Mi-Tientes (neutral color), Art Spectrum, Wallis or
Pastel Premier. (I will have some of this for sale at the first class) or similar papers.
- Support board to mount paper on - Foam core, drawing board, Gatorboard
- Blue artist tape
- Set of hard pastels - Nupastel, Cretacolor, Polychromos or other hard pastels
in thin stick form.
- Set of soft pastels - Rembrandt, Holbein, etc.
(I always bring my pastels, so if there is a color that you don't have, you can
use mine. We will discuss the need for pastel pencils during the first class.
Conte brand are the best.)
- 5 sheets of white copy paper
- 2B, 6B drawing pencils
- 1 piece of Glassine to protect work in progress.
- Reference Photos; bring at least 5 or 6 so that we can decide together which
one would be best
