MC200 Team Challenge to benefit Girls on the Run-Chicago
Running to Make a Difference!
On Friday, June 12th, 2008, two hundred relay teams will begin a 200-mile trek through the scenic bike trails, rolling hills, city streets and lakefront paths that run from Madison, Wisconsin to Chicago, Illinois. Teams will begin in a wave start in Madison on Friday morning, and run continuously through the night and day until they reach the finish on Chicago’s Lakefront at Montrose Harbor!

The Madison-Chicago 200 is a true challenge for all runners and now, race organizers have added another challenge – a Team FUNdraising Challenge! The MC200 is proud to have Girls on the Run-Chicago (GOTRC) as our charity fundraising partner, and runners are encouraged to raise funds to support their efforts. GOTRC is a non-profit organization that uses the power of running to help 8 – 14 year old girls develop healthy habits and an active lifestyle, along with building confidence, commitment and character. Just like the MC200 teams, GOTRC teams train and run together for weeks leading up to their final 5K event. When teams of girls finish, they are ALL number one. Teams, start fundraising and make your 200 miles count! The team which raises the most funds over $1,000 for Girls on the Run-Chicago by June 30, 2009 will receive a complimentary team registration in the 2010 MC200!
