Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in the Big D Half Marathon on April 6, 2008 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of four Honored Heroes. **Wilhelmine Mitchell**, our family's dear Grandmother, was diagnosed with lymphoma. **Jason Huffman**, a family friend and fellow educator, is fighting his second battle with leukemia. My third hero, **Ashley Porter**, is one of my best friends and my son's third grade teacher. She was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. **Georgie Pyeatt** is a very special family friend, and she is another Honored Hero. She was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. In addition to my Heroes, I am proud to be running in honor of two Angels. **Kenneth Robison** is one of my Honored Angels. He is the late husband of my dear friend and coworker, Betty. My other Angel is **Jenny Reed**. Jenny is the late mother of my friend and coworker, Donna Redden. I am honored that Betty and Donna have allowed me to run in their loved one's name.

UPDATE: I DID IT!! I completed the Big D Half Marathon on April 6th! My finish time was 2:56. Crossing the finish line knowing that with your support, I was a part of raising money to find a cure for blood cancers was exhilarating and rewarding! I can't thank you enough for your support!!
