Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

Well, now I've gone and done it! I am training to participate in the San Diego Marathon.. yup, a whole 26 miles! I am training with the fine folks from Team in Training and we are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

They are all very nice people, but they get me out of bed every Saturday to run at 8:30 am and kick my butt every Wednesday night to make sure I'm good 'n ready come June 3!

I am running in memory of my grandfather Jim McGrew who died of Lukemia when I was 11. He was a big man with a bigger personality. We have a lifetime of memories that bring us joy, but I hope that soon there will be a cure for these cancers so that no more great people will lose their fight with this disease.

For an added bit of pleasure, make the donation on any given Saturday morning as you sit in your cozy slippers drinking coffee.. laughing at the fact that I'm crazy enough to train for a marathon!
