I am training to participate in the NYC Triathlon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in memory of my cousin Simon. Individuals who are battling blood cancers are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Simon was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on August 9, 2006, just 4 days after his family moved from Celebration, Florida to Jackson, Mississippi. He was considered high risk since he was over 10 years old and his white count was over 50,000. His parents and sister cried when they heard the diagnosis – and he told them not to worry saying, "I'm Simon, I'll get through this." Unfortunately, Simon passed away November 14, 2007. It's now our job to do everything we can to make sure a cure is found.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thank you so much for your support!
