Welcome to My Marathon Fundraising Home Page
I CAN'T SAY HOW THANKFUL I AM FOR ALL OF THE DONATIONS OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS. MY FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND CO-WORKERS ARE TRULY GENEROUS PEOPLE, AND I AM EXTREMELY PROUD TO SHARE SUCH AN IMPORTANT CAUSE WITH THEM. THERE IS NO LIMIT TO THE AMOUNT OF RESEARCH WE CAN SPONSOR, SO LET'S KEEP DONATING, VOLUNTEERING, AND RUNNING!
Welcome to my marathon fundraiser home page. I am training for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in San Diego this summer. That's 26.2 miles (and about 5 hours) of running. Thankfully, Team in Training coaches are very encouraging and keep the participants motivated.
As a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training, I am raising funds to help treat leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma. This is for my mom, Cassie Jones, who stayed strong throughout her treatment. She went through so much and still managed to smile, make conversation, and listen to how our day went. Mom has been healthy for two years now.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is a great organization. They back important research and development projects for blood cancers. This effort means so much to me, and I am very thankful that my friends and family are willing to donate and show their support. I am raising $3,900 by May 15!
1) Use the secure online donation center (left hand side of page) to donate directly
2) Mail a check made out to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to my address below:

Remember that all donations are tax deductible and receipts are available upon request. Ask your company about corporate matching to double your donation! I hope you'll visit my web site often to check my progress. Thanks for your support!
February - We're starting slow to get into a routine- Three days running around 11:30 min/mile pace and long group runs on Saturday mornings
Week 3/5 - Long run day on the 5th. We're working on endurance though, not speed. That makes me feel like my pace isn't that slow today. Pushing harder, Long run on 3/10, it was so nice outside! The snow finally melted off the path, 8 MILES!
Week 3/12 - What a nice week for running outside...and cross-training on the ski slopes.
Week 3/19 - We ran ladders at track practice this week, I haven't done that since high school :) I missed my long run on Saturday due to a fundraising event. I earned $200 in donations at the event over the weekend! Sunday's workout was tough to make up for the lost days this past week: lifting AND running 4.5 miles!
Week 3/26 - Long run on Monday after work (10.4 miles) at Washington Park and shorter runs for recovery later in the week. E-Day's party at Mines to raise some funds, thanks to the Mines' Men's Soccer Team!
Week 4/2 - Cross training over the weekend and LONG run on Tuesday after work- 12 miles. I finally bought a fuel belt and a supply of GOO. Wash Park is the best place to run in Denver!
Week 4/9 - Change Drive fundraiser at work this week, and about ten people volunteered to help out. The company has agreed to match up to $500! Shorter runs and some lifting, Big snow storm predicted starting Thursday night, so hopefully the weekend long run is still on!
Week 4/16 - The snow storm blew over, typical Colorado weather. The Change Drive ended well, we raised $695.79! The corporate match will almost meet the fundraising goal. Running has taken a back seat so far this week with a business trip, but I'll get back on track Thursday afternoon. Saturday's long run was killer - 15.5 miles!
Week 4/23 - A bit of recovery on Sunday after the long run, Tuesday I did some lifting and ran about 4 miles, Thursday and Friday were 5 mile runs, and now I have to make up the long run Monday after work...
Week 4/30 - Today is Monday, that means at least 15 miles after work today...Big group fundraiser planned with the silent auction this weekend at Wynkoop Brewery!
May - This month has been busy with work, moving, and maintaining the training schedule. Thank God for tapering, that cut out a lot of training time. The marathon is this weekend! Mom and I are flying out together, and she's getting up at 4:30 Sunday morning with me to cheer the team on. This has been such a great experience, and I am so thankful to everyone who supported me through the past few months. It's been tough! I love you all, and I'll let you know my finish time! (Right now, expected to be between 4.5 and 5.5 hours)
