Together We Can Do It!

Only 3 more weeks until my Triathlon, and only 2 more weeks until my fundraising deadline of March 26th! It's crunch time here! Please donate. Your donation will make a huge difference in my personal campaign, in the lives of people suffering from blood cancers, in the lives of their friends and family, and especially in the lives of people who will be diagnosed with a blood cancer in the future.

I've had such a great time with Team in Training, learned so much and met so many amazing people whose lives have been changed by Leukemia & Lymphoma. In talking with survivors and friends and family members of those who didn't survive, you realize what a difference the work of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society makes. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society provides funds for research and clinical trials, educational material to doctors, and support to patients and their families. The money you donate today will bring them that much closer to finding a cure for blood cancers.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission. All donations are 100% tax deductible.

To further entice your generosity, all donors get an entry into the "How Slow will Margaret go?" Pool. The pool winner who guesses closest to my actual triathlon time will receive homemade cookies and endless bragging rights. To Enter, please email me with your best estimate of my official triathlon time (hours, minutes and seconds). To assist you with your guessing, my thoughts and recent training times on each of the triathlon events are below:

Swim .93 miles: I can do this in the pool in about 45 minutes, but I'm nervous about the fact that it will be in open water. Breathing in a wave tends to slow me down. Not to mention, salt water tastes nasty!
Bike 24.8 miles: I can do this in 2 hours, provided I don't get a flat.
Run 6.1 miles: No sweat, okay maybe a little... My 1/2 marathon time in February was 2:25:01, but I hit the 6 mile marker at about 1 hour 6 minutes. My hip is giving me some trouble though, so that might slow me down.
Overall: My goal is still to do this triathlon in under 4 hours. This might be a little over ambitious, I haven't timed my transitions or done an entire practice triathlon. However I'm confident I can get it done.

My final fundraising deadline is March 26th, so if you are planning on donating, please do so before then. Thanks for your support!
