Robert and Linn's Fundraising Page
Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to our Team In Training home page!
Robert: In January 1993, my Dad passed away with myeloma, a blood cancer that affects 2,000 people in Canada every year. He had barely begun his retirement from a lifetime of public service when he was diagnosed. I know he would love to have met more of his wonderful grandchildren.
Linn: I hardly got to know Robert's dad. He passed away from myeloma only 9 months after we got married. He was a great man who contributed in many ways to his community and to the North. I loved hearing his stories about his family and his experiences in the Arctic, and I felt such a loss when I knew I wouldn't hear any more of his stories again.
We're training to run in a half-marathon in Anchorage, Alaska as members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training, in memory of James R. Slaven. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. We're completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
