5 Steps to a Perfect Box Jump

This is one of those show-off moves that looks harder than it is. Trainer Ted Borgerding of Ignition APG gym in Cincinnati has the calorie-burning, leg-firming how-to.
Target Body Parts

- Butt - Hips - Thighs - Calves - Shins - Core
1. Stand
1 of 8
Stand about a foot from the box on balls of feet with feet hip-width apart, hands overhead, palms in.
2. Throw
1 of 8
Throw hands behind you to load the spring in your jump as you sit back in a squat-like position.
3. Swing
1 of 8
Swing arms forcefully overhead to gain momentum as you jump with legs extended.
4. Land
1 of 8
Land with both feet fully on the box, hip-width apart, knees soft.
5. Stick
1 of 8
Stick your landing (Gabby Douglas style), hips forward, arms overhead. Then step or jump down. You did it!
It's All About The Box
