About this event

Six IN-PERSON sessions September 16, 23, 30, October 7, 14, 21 The Cold War was a pivotal period in modern history, spanning roughly from the end of World War II in 1945 to the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. It was characterized by intense geopolitical rivalry and ideological conflict between the United States and its allies in the Western Bloc, led by NATO, and the Soviet Union and its allies in the Eastern Bloc, led by the Warsaw Pact. Despite never escalating into direct military confrontation between the two superpowers, the Cold War shaped global politics, economics, and culture for over four decades and in doing so cost many lives, most of them innocent. Carter J Wood is retired from the US Army, Corporate realm and Gwinnett County Schools Operations Division. He is 50-year volunteer with Scouting and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Carter has presented on several military history topics since joining BULLI in 2017.
