Six IN-PERSON sessions September 16, 23, 30, October 7, 14, 21 This course begins with a syllabus of dances from easy to more challenging, introducing foot positions and safe body mechanics as we move through each dance, building phrases out of the steps that help the learning process. Each class session moves at the pace of the students and strives to accommodate both beginners and more advanced dancers. Line dancing is a prefect introduction to the dance world and allows individuals the opportunity to participate without a partner. A variety of music covering several rhythms is presented with discussion on how to tell the difference. Dance is a fun and easy way to exercise the body as well as maintain the brain. Dance shoes are preferred but not required. Jean Maggio is a NTA Certified Instructor, UCWDC member/competitor, and line instructor of 18 years. She moved to Gainesville in 2002 from Annapolis, MD, and is now retired with two adult children and six adult grandchildren. She and her husband love to dance and regularly find themselves on a dance floor socially as well as competitively.
