Description
Welcome to the UBCO Recreation Pickleball League. This is an indoor program played in the Gymnasium.
This league is for players from 3.0-3.5. We will be playing round-robin style and will playing with all levels within this group. We are a social league, meet people and have fun playing pickleball.
There are 4 courts. We are using Badminton Court lines on the gym floor.
Open to the UBCO students, staff and faculty and community members.
Pickleball - Digit Skill Ratings1.0-2.0: Player is just starting to play pickleball and has no other sports background. Minimal understanding of the rules of the game.2.5: Player has limited experience. Can sustain a short rally with players of equal ability and has a basic ability to keep score3.0: Player understands fundamentals, is learning proper court positioning, knows the fundamental rules, can keep score and is now playing tournaments.3.5: Player moves quickly towards the non-volley zone when opportunity is there, can sustain short rallies, is learning proper court positioning and has basic knowledge of stacking and understands situations where it can be effective.4.0+: Player is aware of partner's position on the court, is able to move as a team, has a moderate number of unforced errors per game, is beginning to identify opponent's weaknesses and attempts to formulate game plan to attack weaknesses.
