Fun Ways to Set an Active After School Schedule for Kids

I'm not really sure how it happened, but back-to-school time is here. The swimming, running, biking and playing that filled my kids' summer days will soon be traded for class time, studying and homework.

It's recommended for children to be active at least 60 minutes daily. With schools cutting physical education classes, most of us will need to get our kids moving after school in order to meet that goal. So, rather than letting them plop down in front of the TV for hours every afternoon, try starting a routine that features plenty of active time.

Begin by choosing a dedicated time for activities each day after school. It could be right when your child gets home, or between homework and dinner. Then, try some of these fun ways to get moving and soon you'll create an after school tradition your kids will love.
