'Twas a few weeks before Christmas and runners put on their gear, to run a wintertime race and spread some holiday cheer. They ran, they shuffled, they did the Jingle Bell Rock, they gathered in various locations—at all times on the clock. Here are 10 chances for you to join in on the fun, and celebrate the season at a holiday run.
Run, Santa, Run 5K
December 6, 2014 - Madison, Wisconsin

Grab your Santa hat (all participants will receive one) or any other holiday-themed costumes and gear up for this 5K run/walk. See the live reindeer and horse-drawn sleigh, and party with other runners at the post-race party with live music.
2014 Happy Holidays Half Merrython

Run the half marathon, the 2.62-mile race, or challenge yourself and do both events on the coastline from Gloucester to Rockport. Participants will receive a technical race shirt and finisher's medal, and can enjoy music, a raffle and refreshments.
Troutman Sanders Renegade Santa Run

Enjoy this Orange County holiday event that features a flat and scenic course for a 10K, 5K and half-mile kids run. You'll run along the Peter's Canyon bike trail, lined with beautiful trees and landscaping. Each finisher gets a commemorative ornament and T-shirt, and prizes will be given to participants who are dressed in the best Santa or Holiday Themed (non-Santa) costume.
Santa's North Pole Dash

This race brings a day of fun for the whole family with a 5K Run/Walk and a Merry Mile. The run finishes at the Sacramento Downtown Plaza with post-race festivities that include cookies, milk, music and snow. This run benefits the Wellspring Women's Center and the Mini Mermaid Running Club.
