7 IRONMAN Facebook Groups You Should Join

Written by
The one thing we all look forward to after finishing a big race—after food, a nap and a week of rest—is being praised by our loved ones (or random people you used to be friends with) online. But if your Facebook friends are tired of seeing your finisher pictures and shots of your bike, the feedback you’re looking for can be hard to come by.

Facebook groups are a great way to connect with fellow triathletes and discuss race tactics and gear without disrupting your friends’ social media feeds. We’ve gathered seven must-join groups to take your Facebook triathlon game to the next level.
Pathetic Triathletes Group

Triathletes are known for their endurance feats, but they're also sometimes unfortunately known for their inflated ego and lack of humility. The Pathetic Triathlete Group (PTG) is an all-inclusive group that promotes a supportive and fun triathlon community.

Have a 'dumb' question? Not a big deal. Crush a box of Oreos after a long run? PTG will let you know you aren't alone.
IRONMAN ____ 20XX

Every IRONMAN has its own set of challenges and circumstances unique to that specific race. Search Facebook groups by your race location (i.e. IRONMAN Texas) and year (i.e. 2017) to connect with other triathletes who will be racing alongside you come race day. Ask a question or share news and training progress with people who know exactly what you're going through.
IRONMAN Singles

Has your love for swimming, biking and running disrupted a relationship or two? Is your chlorine scent and 8 p.m. bedtime scaring away potential suitors? IRONMAN Singles is a group for IRONMAN triathletes looking to date an athlete with a similar lifestyle and mindset.
IRONMAN Tats

The M-Dot has become a badge of honor for those of us who have completed a full IRONMAN. Just like the triathletes themselves, the simple M-Dot has been interpreted into some creative and inspiring tattoos. With 5,000 members and growing, share your ink or find inspiration for your next piece on the IRONMAN Tats Facebook page.
You know you're an IRONMAN when…

You don't finish an IRONMAN without embarrassing training pitfalls and a fair share of inspiration from fellow triathletes. Share your T1 wardrobe malfunction or diet fail with athletes who have been there and done that, and find solace knowing you aren't alone during the dark days of training.
IRONMAN TriClub Connect
1 of 8
Triathletes are some of the most social people you'll ever meet. If you're looking for that extra connection with others who swim, bike and run, joining a triathlon club (or this group) can connect you with other triathletes training in your area or who simply love the sport.
The IRONMAN Journey
1 of 8
Anyone who's crossed the finish line will tell you: An IRONMAN isn't just a 140.6-mile race, it's a journey. All the hours of training and sacrifice is part of the process—but you don't have to go it alone. This group includes IRONMAN beginners and veterans alike, and members regularly ask for advice or post news regarding all things IRONMAN.
