TH!NK offers a full-day program for students FINISHING grades 6-9. Students will participate in four different classes during the day. Class descriptions are included. Students DO NOT need to select any classes this year. Students need to bring a lunch and basic supplies. Shark Tank-- Can you navigate the shark-infested waters of influence? From politics, social justice, health, safety, sports, the arts, and entertainment, advocate for issues that matter to you. Create a compelling concept strategy and take a bite out of the status quo! Action Contraption-- Whiz! Bang! Zing . . . through the air, into the cymbal, around the water glasses, and into the trash can! Analyze Rube Goldberg inventions and create new gizmos, gadgets, and contraptions. Take your plans from abstract ideas to reality! Inside Out-- Where are memories stored? How do you make up your mind? Why is it healthy to cry? What triggers a laugh? Life is an emotional roller-coaster ride! Make the most of the thrills and chills by exploring the complexities of the brain. Under Pressure: Go Big or Go Home-- Do you dream of being an engineer, building extreme structures that will not collapse under pressure? Design prototypes to withstand natural and man-made forces. All this will be water under the bridge once you learn the science of building big.
