Description
This tour will explore Caltech's original campus. Participants will see how Bertram Goodhue using "shaded portals, sheltering walls and Persian pools" set the tone for a campus of great beauty so that scientists and engineers would become more aware of the aesthetic values of life. After our tour, we will be lunching at Gordon Kaufmann's Mediterranean faculty club -- the gorgeous Athenaeum. Meal is not included in the price of the trip. MUST BRING CASH TO PAY FOR LUNCH. Note: EXTENSIVE WALKING. NO REFUNDS/CREDITS/TRANSFERS FOR THIS EXCURSION UNLESS YOUR SPOT CAN BE FILLED. 2024 Senior Membership is required for this trip.
