Instructor: Bob Hartung received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Miami University, a master's from Bowling Green University, and postgraduate work from Toledo University, Findlay University, and Ashland University. Bob taught mathematics and coached various sports for 32 years at Port Clinton High School on the shores of Lake Erie. He and his wife Nancy have traveled to 67 countries around the world. He has presented various travelogue talks to civic and fraternal organizations, nursing homes, and veterans' groups in Ohio. He is an avid golfer and was a United States Golf Association course rater for over 20 years. He was twice a hole captain for the U.S. Men's Senior Open. Description: This class will explore the Allied landing on the five Normandy Beaches and the subsequent advances of the battle lines. This adventure also includes a virtual visit to the US cemetery and the process of searching for a particular soldier's grave.
