Description
The purpose of a Lifeguarding Instructor/Instructor Trainer (LGI/IT) Recertification course is to give LGI/ITs the opportunity to review the course knowledge and skills within a formal course setting to maintain their LGI/IT certification. Successful completion of the LGI/IT Recertification course is the only method for maintaining certification as an American Red Cross LGI/IT.
**Note: The American Red Cross released an updated Lifeguarding program in February 2024. All current LGI/ITs must complete the online update for the r.24 Lifeguarding program by August 31, 2024 in order to remain certified as an LGI/IT. Successful completion of the r.24 Lifeguarding program update provides a 1 year certification. Only those LGI/ITs who completed the online update by August 31, 2024 are eligible to complete in the LGI/IT Recertification Course. If you have not yet completed the r.24 Lifeguarding update, please login to the Red Cross Learning Center or contact the Red Cross Training Support Center for assistance.**
