About this event
Day One Class – Introduction to class and discussion of objectives in clay, glass, and timeline of class; discuss design ideas and potential outcomes using examples; create three or four 6x6 clay molds. Follow up: Fire molds and slump clear glass into molds. Day Two Class – Review and discuss molds and slumped glass; discussion of fused glass designing and objectives; create four 6x6 glass pieces; create replacement clay molds if necessary; Follow up: Fuse glass and slump into molds. Fire additional clay molds if needed. Day Three Class – Review and discuss fused and slumped pieces; introduction to painting on glass and combining with frit and glass sheet; create additional glass pieces and/or molds. Follow up: Fuse glass and slump new glass pieces; fire new clay molds. Day Four Class – Critique and troubleshooting clay molds, glass designs and review of firing schedules. Create final pieces for firing. Follow up: Fuse and slump final pieces.
