Description
Bats are weird and wonderful! Did you know that there are more important things than bat boxes if you want to attract bats to your yard? How many species are found in Georgia? While some Georgia bat species are being decimated by an introduced fungus that causes “white nose syndrome”, the Georgia DNR is fighting to prevent our bats from extinction. Find out how you can help! Rose is a liaison for the GA Bat Working Group. The program will be followed by a hunt for bats flying above the Old Rucker Farm Gardens. Rose Guerra is a professional nature educator, working privately and also for Birds Georgia (formerly Georgia Audubon Society) and the Dunwoody Nature Center. With a passion for learning all things nature, Rose is a liaison for the Georgia Bat Working Group and a certified master herpetologist, venomous snake handler, wild mushroom forager, and Trees Atlanta Treekeeper. Rose leads speaking engagements, bird walks, mushroom walks, scout programs, and Chattahoochee Nature Center canoe trips.
