Description
Fall is upon our beautiful area and what better time to paint the poetic landscape before Old Man Winter arrives? Come share your pastel talents with pastelists and compose a fall symphony of colors on your canvas from a beloved landscape photo you've taken. If you don't have a photo, select photo stock online (Not copyrighted.) The instructor will assist in your thumbnail sketches, composition & palettes; and guide you through a successful pastel painting you may want to gift for the holidays. A landscape demonstration will start the workshop and individual attention to everyone at their easels. An uplifting critique ends the Workshop, propelling your learning and vision.Students will bring their own supplies: • Foam core board with Masking tape • Soft Pastels variety of light, medium, dark preferably Sennelier, Rembrandt quality • Sanded Pastel Paper minimum of 12x18 Uart, or other sanded papers • Blending stumps, etc • Sketchbook, charcoal, pencil, eraser • tracing paper large enough to cover the painting to protect • color wheel/viewfinder, • Advanced students: for under washes: 90% rubbing alcohol; brush • Easels and tables provided • Usual tools used in your studioLandscape photo references that are clear, illustrating strong values to translate in your Workshop landscape painting.
