Description
Adult. Prerequisite: Woodworking with Hand Tools Beginning or instructor approval. This class is designed to build on the skills and techniques learned in the hand tools beginner class. With the guidance of our experienced instructor, you will be taken step by step through the process of creating a Shaker step stool using beautiful Black Cherry wood. This 10 week course has intentionally small class sizes to ensure that proper attention will be given to each student. Through demonstrations and practice, this class will give you the necessary skills and experience to allow you to build more advanced projects. We will increase your experience, using saws, chisels, hand planes, and other specialty hand tools, jigs and fixtures. We will demonstrate additional techniques for more accurate hand tool work. We’re excited to share the joy of creating usable wooden heirlooms and foster a love of working with your hands with simple tools in a functional way. There will be a $60 material fee to cover the cost of lumber. Last day to register will be Monday, January 13th. Instructor: Aaron Landy. 10 classes.
