Adult. Prerequisite: Woodworking with Hand Tool Intermediate or instructor approval. This class is an opportunity for the student to continue developing the hand tool skills that were learned in the first two “Woodworking with Hand Tools” classes. The Intermediate class is a prerequisite for this advanced class. The student will be expected to have a measured drawing of the project they wish to complete. There are many plans available on the Internet, some are free and some have a cost which would be the responsibility of the student. Also the student will also be responsible for purchasing the lumber. The instructor can make recommendations on the build and where to purchase the lumber. The instructor will also assist the student in the initial flattening and cutting of the lumber to size. It is suggested that the project be not much larger than a bread box. Some examples of appropriate projects would be a shaker end table, a jewelry box, a toolbox or a wall hanging whiskey cabinet. There is no guarantee that a project can be completed in one semester; more complex projects may require additional semesters, depending on the students abilities. This class will take place at the same time as the Woodworking 2 class. Space may be limited depending on the size of the “Woodworking with Hand Tools 2” class so early registration is encouraged if possible. Last day to register will be Monday, January 13th.
