Description
Grade 10th - Adult. Love painting with acrylics? Have you ever tried to spice up your paintings with mixed media elements before? Try this new class offering from Mary Thiefels, long time Rec & Ed painting instructor. This exploratory painting class is just what you need to keep your art and your ideas fresh. Review the acrylic basics: color mixing, brush stroke techniques, composition and more - but this time we build on these basic principles and add in collage, textured and glaze mediums, heavy paint applications and abstraction. Need something fresh to do this fall, join Mary in this truly exploratory and uniquely creative experience. The Instructor, Mary Thiefels, educator with Rec & Ed for nearly 20 years and founder of TreeTown Murals, will guide the class into making successful works of art through one on one in person instruction plus in depth virtual class demonstrations. The virtual classes will provide an explanation of all materials, advanced color theory practices, color mixing, brush handling techniques, tricks, collage and mixed media. Class will meet in-person on Tuesdays, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/12, 11/26 & 12/10 (6 classes), 6-9pm where you will have open studio time to paint while getting personal feedback and guidance from Mary. On alternate weeks, the class meets on Zoom on Tuesdays 11/5, 11/19, 12/3, 6-8pm (3 classes) where Mary will do her live painting lessons and introduce class projects. During these classes you will be invited to paint along to practice your techniques. Come join the fun!! See receipt and online notes for a basic first day supply list. 9 classes.
