The High School Guide Council program is an open-gendered community of youth who are committed to their own personal growth and living authentic lives. We meet regularly for circle, go on weekend-long adventures, and each individual gets monthly, 2-hour 1:1 mentoring sessions. Through creating a larger community, small and intimate circles, and personalized mentoring, The Guide Council is a program that supports them in developing intentionality, integrity, and awareness around how they live their live. This program supports High School-aged youth as they navigate the independence, intensity, and questions that arise as they come to the threshold of adulthood through adolescence. We sit in circle together and guide conversation about important topics that surface: healthy relationships, acting with integrity, walking confidently in one's self with heart, standing up for what they feel is right, tapping into who they are and how they feel. It's a place to talk and be truly listened to with support and true honoring of their growth and walk in the world. The trips serve as an extension of circle, and allows us to get out into a beautiful location while having more time to connect, develop trust within the group, and delve into what's living and unfolding for them.
