ART HISTORY AND VISUAL CULTURE I, II & III/ Sarah MoonThursdays from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

This course explores artistic genres chronologically, building foundational knowledge of art history while connecting to contemporary practices. It is divided into sections that encourage discussion around themes such as The Self, Love, History and War, Religion and Spirituality, Nature, Life, Death, and Mortality. Through lectures, discussions, and video essays, the course is designed for art enthusiasts of all ages who seek to deepen their understanding of how art reflects culture and the human condition across various periods. The course will inform students about histories while simultaneously embracing the contemporary.Resources Needed:Students will receive a link to a digital timeline of notes and images for reference, but they are encouraged to take notes in their preferred manner to create a permanent record of the images and information discussed. Please note that the digital link will be deactivated after the course concludes.
