About this event
Competition Coding Club is a dynamic and competitive learning community focused on preparing students for the United States of America Coding Olympiad (USACO). Experienced coaches are dedicated to teaching the students essential skills such as problem-solving strategies, data structures, and algorithms. At the beginning of each year, a placement test will be conducted to divide students into two classes. Silver Class, consisting of up to 10 students, will cover more advanced and challenging topics (e.g., time complexity, sorting, backtracking) for students ready to take on the challenge of being promoted to USACO Silver. All other students who have basic experience in coding (knowledge of how to use input and output, if/else statement, for loops, while loops) may join the Bronze Class. They will start the year covering the fundamental concepts (e.g., arrays, maps, simulation) students may require. The supportive environment will assist students through difficulties one step at a time, and experienced student coaches will provide guidance to help students promote into the next division.
