This course will provide an overview of various art materials, techniques, and concepts, culminating in several finished projects that will be displayed and presented at the end of the course. Students will participate in the entire artistic process from start to finish, including but not limited to brainstorming ideas, developing detailed plans, selecting the most effective materials and techniques, soliciting and integrating feedback, presenting finished work, speaking and writing about ideas, and connecting with the artwork of others. Students will begin to develop a unique artistic voice and learn how to visually communicate a message to their audience. All levels are welcome; no artistic experience necessary. Students must inform the teacher in advance before missing any class. Students may miss no more than 5 days if enrolled in any for-credit course. Students may not miss any days during the first or last week of any for-credit course. If this policy is not adhered to, students will not be awarded credit for the course. For-credit courses are excluded from the early registration discount.
