Calling All BUSD High School students!! Learn the skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies! Become a lifeguard!
This class is intended for Bellflower residents, Bellflower Unified School District and Bellflower Service High School students who wish to become employed as a lifeguard in the future. Participants must successfully pass a pre-course skills test, complete the online course modules, and all portions of this course in order to receive the certifications, which include the American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certifications. There are no refunds given for any reason. Completion of online portion is required before first class. Failure to complete the online portion and pass the pre-requisites swim test will result in being unable to take the in-person class. Pre-course skills test includes Swim 300 yards continuously demonstration breath control and rhythmic breathing. Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs. Complete a timed event with 1 minute 40 seconds and all portions of this course in order to receive the certifications, which include the American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certifications. And E-Learning that will be emailed to you once you have enrolled into the class.
