About this event

Learn essential knitting techniques! You will learn to read a pattern, cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, decrease, increase, and finishing techniques to create unique textiles. Patterns will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own pattern. Required Materials: Set of size 8 or 9 straight wood knitting needles One ball of smooth (not textured) worsted weight yarn in a solid light color (any light color, not navy or black). Any wool or acrylic that suits your aesthetic and budget and meets the criteria above will work Scissors Ruler Tapestry needle Large safety pins (at least two inches) Optional materials: Gauge ruler Stitch counter Tote bag or plastic bag to store your knitting Additional yarn may be needed depending on your personal knitting and preference A pattern may be needed depending on your personal knitting and preference, select patterns will also be provided Please view our refund policy at artstudio.berkeley.edu/faqs
