About this event
In this workshop we will be exploring how to create a simple codex binding out of paper, found objects, and a variety of printmaking techniques to adorn our covers and pages. Participants will be led through a series of step-by-step instructions on how to create the book and binding. They will also learn how to use Gel Plates, stencils, and hand carved stamps to create beautiful printed papers that will be used for the cover, clasp, and decorative elements inside its pages. Once the book is finished, it can be used as a writing, art journal, or stand alone as a sculptural book art piece. Time permitting during this class we will investigate accordion style books too! No experience necessary with bookmaking or printmaking.
