Description
Pastels That Pop! All Levels
Instructor: Fran Seikaly
Learn about value, layering of colors (glazing), use of warm and cool colors
light and shadows to create depth and interest. Work from a still life or use
your own photo for reference. Instruction is individualized within the class.

Pastel Materials List
Small set (12 pieces) Prisma Color NuPastels. These are hard pastels and can be found at Blick or Michaels.
Set of soft pastels. Amazon has 1/2 sticks of Sennelier brand. Avoid Artist's Loft and Masters Touch, both poor quality.
1 piece Canson Mi Tientes drawing paper. Can be 9 x 11 or larger in Ivory, Cream or Eggshell.
1 piece of sanded paper, either tan or black - Premium Sanded 400 Grit in drawer #23 or UART 9 x 12, 10 sheet pad, 400 grit with Glassine included in pad.
1 sheet Glassine in drawer #76. All three items at Blick. Don’t fold the sheet of Glassine, have them roll it.
1/2 sheet of foam core.
Blue or black Artists Tape.
3 sheets copy paper and pencil
4 or 5 reference photos
Don’t unwrap supplies until class starts in case of incorrect purchase.
