This class will teach you the basics of applying art to fabric. Students will be working on a linen base as they learn to design surface art using decorative fabrics, hand stitching and paints. These techniques will open your eyes to a creative opportunity using an entirely new combination of mediums. It sounds complex but once you see how it's done...you will open the door to a whole new way of working with fabric. Your art will finish to approximately 12" x 12" and if you complete your project with time to spare, start on a second! After leaving the class, be as creative as you would like with your cloth. You can frame it, make a pillow, stitch it onto the back of a denim jacket or find your own way to use it. Then start creating more adding your own embellishments!
