DATES: Oct 26, 27 Instructor: Reb Ayşe Geduk In this 12 hour class, students will learn the basics of dyeing fabric using natural materials, including natural dye sources, how to extract colors, what mordants are, and how to use them to fix natural dyes to fabric. Students will leave with the substantial beginnings of a swatch library documenting a range of fibers, dyes, mordants, and modifiers. Bring along any materials you'd like to experiment with! -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. Weekend Intensive students have access to Open Studio time for free during the class and for up to a week after the class to put their new knowledge to practice.
