About this event
Cooking Club welcomes students across Grades 1-8 to work with our own Chef Anthony Tullio on on culinary basics, food science, nutrition, sustainability, and the history of trends. Each lesson will result in a snack that the students will help to make! Culinary Basics include the proper use of kitchen utensils and equipment (no knives), food procurement, and sanitation. Food science deals with which ingredients or processes do what in a recipe i.e. the difference between baking powder and baking soda in cookie recipes. We'll take a look at the nutritional value of what we eat, where our food comes from, and will our favorites stand the test of time.
