Do you ever wish you could find time for art?
Perhaps you think about it but never know where to start?
You might even get so far as to get your art supplies out and then freeze with worries, doubts, fears, questions and hesitations.
Human brains are wired with a negativity bias. This thinking protects us from real danger but also makes us hesitate in most things, even those we truly desire. Worry about the future, and fears we learned from the past show up, and we get stuck. Art gets postponed once again.
#mMajic provides an opportunity to slow down, simplify, and practice creativity. In 6 weeks, you will begin to recognize those negative thoughts and work with them, rather than fight them. You will gather together and share with others of various skill levels and experiences. Art journaling creates a space to play, explore, create and learn. You will develop new habits while exploring tools, techniques and practices. You will reconnect with your creative muse and light up your creative life.
Your host, Steve Addario, is an artist, teacher, therapist and coach who has sought answers to his own roadblocks over many years. Steve works primarily with watercolors and has found working in his own journals to be a gateway to his own creative passion. Join Steve and others to reignite your creativity and light up your life!
Supplies: You can use what you already have on hand.
Steve suggests using a mixed media art journal, but it's not required. Keeping your work in a small or medium sized journal can be portable, eliminates some of the decision making time, is a great way to record what you are doing and easily shows progress over time. But, any paper, pad or sketchbook will work. Steve will provide a list of optional media and supplies to all members. These recommendations are the art journals, pens, pencils and color media he uses currently.Instructor: Steve Addario
