With combined mind-body practices and enhanced postures and exercises, this class makes a smooth transition between beginner and intermediate level Tai Chi. Often described as meditation in motion, Tai Chi is an effective exercise for gently improving strength, balance, flexibility and range of motion. A healthy, lifelong practice, Tai Chi promotes stress reduction and mental clarity.
Tai Chi Fundamentals Adapted Program (“TCFA”) is an exercise system based on Professor Cheng Man-Ch’ing’s 37 posture short Yang form. TCFA is for people of all ages interested in learning traditional Tai Chi for its health and wellness benefits. The three pillars of TCFA are: basic moves, mind/body awareness, and simplified form practice. The purpose of TCFA is to expand the reach of Tai Chi to include students needing side support, a walker, or seated practice alternatives.Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and flat bottom shoes.
