Get ready for another summer at the new and improved Haughn Natural Area. The newly finished trail system is ready to be explored during our program! We’ll find creatures in the river and friends in the trees. Our REC leaders would love to see you there!Programs will run rain or shine, so dress appropriately for the weather. Bringing water, sunscreen, and a snack is recommended. We will not be providing lunch, but participants are welcome to bring one!
Chasing Waterfalls | July 4 Did you know there’s a nice creek to explore at this program location? Come check it out this week as we explore everything that nature has to offer. Come finds toads, bugs, slugs, and much more!
Magical Forest | July 11 There’s tales of a great powerful magic lurking in the forest at the Haughn Natural Area and we need some young powerful kids to unlock the true magic! We’ll build fairy homes and find some magic wands to practice your true powers!
Up Up and a Great Day | July 18There’s been some trouble on the trails… we need some superheroes to come set things right. Save the forest this week with our summer leaders! The forest needs someone strong, fast, and kind, I think it could be you!
Trick or Trees | July 25 Trick or treat? More like trick or trees, because the trees are the real treat of this location! Things are going to get batty this week as we experience Halloween in July!
Brave Bears | August 1 There are so many animals to learn about in the world. This week we hope to find some on the trails and make some crafts while learning about others!
Pinecone Contractors | August 8 Job application: we’re hiring engineers to help with some pretty intense fort building. Materials available to use include pinecones, sticks, leaves and even more! We’re hiring anyone with a positive attitude and great ideas!
Run Like the River | August 15 This week will force you to use all of the skills you’ve learned over the summer! Join your recreation team at this end of summer Olympics week.
