*Prerequisite: successful completion of Nurse Aide, Direct Care or Personal Care Course
Designed for anyone seeking employment as a medication aide. A valid ID is required. A TB test will be done before attending clinical (fee not included). Uniforms (not included) are required. The course will provide instruction and training on the procedures for preparation and administration of medication with lecture and lab. Clinicals will be held a an Assisted Living Facility. Students will complete a minimum of 48 hours training and 20 hours in a clinical setting. After successfully completing this course, students are eligible to take the Virginia Board of Nursing exam. Cost of exam is students responsibility. The Medication Aide class is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing. This course requires a high level of independent student learning. To help facilitate student learning, we will be exploring the content using a variety of methods including power points, videos, and hands on demonstration. Students must complete the 48 hours of training before attending clinicals. Board of Nursing registration fee included in class fee. Testing fee not included.

Clinicals -7am-3pm Dates TBD
National certification testing fee is the student's responsibility.
