The Rich Weiss Race is a staple race for the Club. Slalom boats are not required for the race and participants may race in plastic boats. Please let us know what classes you will participate in by using the google form. Please note, each participant may register for two classes only. Rich left our small community too early in an incident on the White Salmon River in Washington a year after his tremendous 5th place performance at the 1996 Olympics. The 2025 Rich Weiss will be held on April 27, 2025 at the CCE Paddling Club whitewater race site at the Tamihi Rapids, Chilliwack River. Details Cost: Flat rate for all participants is $20. Prefer paper registration? - no problem, you can register on April 27 by visiting the registration table on race day. Cash only on race day. Open practice with course set will be available from Thursday evening through Saturday. Camping: The Club has NOT booked the campsite at Tamihi Rapids. Driving Directions: Follow the Trans-Canada Hwy (Hwy 1) East from Vancouver and take Exit 119 onto Vedder Road. Turn left at Chilliwack Lake Road and drive 12 km. The site is located directly to the left once you cross the Tamihi Bridge. Cell reception is limited.
