Description
Looking to get into climbing but don't know where to start? No problem! Join our Rec 101 Climbing Workshop designed specifically for students or staff with no climbing experience!
The session will take place in the The Lab Bouldering Studio in building SE16 on Weds, Jan 15th from 5:30pm-7:00pm and will include:
- Bouldering safety orientation & equipment fitting (rentals included)
- A brief overview of bouldering grading scale (V-Scale)
- Basic movement skills
- Equipment rentals for the duration of the session, including climbing shoes and chalk (note: climbing shoes must be worn when climbing; no street shoes, toe shoes or socks are permitted).
This program is intended for Active BCIT students and staff who:
- Have never climbed before (at BCIT or elsewhere) or have minimal experience (ie. less than 3 months, cumulatively)
- Are looking to explore the sport in a safe, beginner-friendly and small-group introductory session
