The Claremont Writing Group (CWG) wants you! It invites writers of all genres and experience to provide positive, supportive, and productive feedback on your fiction, non-fiction, or poetry. The group focuses feedback on elements such as organization, plot, setting, character development, point of view, and overall effectiveness. CWG members include developing and published authors.
Please bring enough copies of your writing for all members of the group to read. During a session, an author reads a piece aloud, and the group (up to 12 members) share their responses/reactions orally and in writing. To maximize participation and sharing, we limit authors to 2,000 words per meeting.
More detailed participation guidelines are available upon request. Due to the participatory nature of the groups’ work, membership is limited to twelve writers at any one time. This means that there usually is a waiting list.
New members will be welcomed in the order in which they were added to the waitlist. If you are interested in joining the waitlist, please call 909-399-5488 or by visiting in-person to the Joslyn Center.
