Get out in nature with a series of four hikes across the county. Individuals using wheelchairs are welcome. We provide All Terrain- GRIT Freedom Chair wheelchairs that can be self-propelled or assisted by our team; Trekking poles; and grit chairs! While the adventure goes over some hills, small rocks and roots, it is easy for the beginner hiker. Hikes are at an easy pace with modular distances for your comfort level. Water and appropriate footwear (sneakers or boots) are required. Detailed information and hike previews are sent to registrants before the first hike. Goals: Increase level of endurance, leisure awareness, and socialization. For descriptions of each hike, email nowens@howardcountymd.gov.
Please do not arrive at programs more than five minutes before the start of the program. Be ready to leave as soon as the program is over. Supervision is not provided before the scheduled start time. Excessive early drop-offs and late pick-ups may result in being dropped from the program. For inclement weather information please call 410-313-4451.
