All participants must have a Leisure Card. Leisure Cards can be obtained at the Front Desk. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING THEIR OWN SKATES. Roller Dance is a fun and energetic beginner-mediate to intermediate activity that combines elements of figure skating, dance, and footwork. In this introductory class, we will focus on teaching you the fundamental skills and movements to build a solid foundation for your Roller Dance journey. Our experienced instructors will guide you through each step, ensuring that you feel comfortable and confident on your roller skates. This 2 hours class convening once a week will begin each class with a warm-up session to get your muscles ready and prevent any injuries. This will include stretches and exercises specifically designed for roller dancing. Next, we will do a short review of the basic techniques of rollerskating. You will want to have a fair amount of basic knowlege of the fundementals of rollerskating such as how to maintain balance, glide, move, stop and go on your skates. Including proper body posture, weight distribution, and control. If you're new to rollerskating try our adult beginners fundementals class where these skills are the main focus. If you are ambitious to challange yourself – this is perfect class for you - our instructors will provide plenty of support and encouragement throughout the course. This class is for people comfortable with the basic techniques, we will focus on to teaching you a series of beginner-level dance steps and choreography. You will learn various turns, spins, and footwork patterns that combine seamlessly with the rhythm of music. We'll focus on coordination, timing, and style to enhance your Roller Dance moves while having a blast. Safety is our top priority, so we will refresh our understanding of essential safety such as how to fall correctly and how to avoid potential hazards while Roller Dancing. We strongly recommend wearing protective gear, including a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards, to ensure your safety throughout the class at your discretion. Our Introduction to Roller Dance Class is designed for everyone of adult age and with previous skating experience. Whether you're a seasoned beginner and are wanting to up you game or have some consistent skating background and wanting to join a community of like minded individuals with a passion for Roller Dance, this class will provide the you with a solid foundation to build up your Roller Dance intensity, stamina, and endurance. We encourage you to embrace the fun and excitement of Roller Dance and let your creativity shine! So grab your roller skates, put on some comfortable clothing, and get ready to roll! We can't wait to see you in our Introduction to Roller Dance Class. Let's skate, dance, and have a great time together!
