About This Activity

Description

iCan Bike teaches children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities to learn to ride a conventional two-wheel bicycle. Participants begin on specialized trainer bikes, and by the end of the week, they transition to riding on their own two-wheeled bike, along with personalized recommendations from staff for continued progress toward independent biking. Goals include building riding skills, boosting self-confidence, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. A parent or caregiver must remain on-site throughout the camp and attend a mandatory orientation on July 13. Program meets daily for 75 minutes. Participants must provide their own two-wheel bike and helmet, have a documented disability, and be at least 8 years old, under 220 pounds, and able to attend all five days of camp. Info: Nick Owens, 410-313-1671 or nowens@howardcountmd.gov.
