Description
Interns will work closely with the Personal Training Team to learn the skills and abilities needed to be a fitness professional. Interns will observe and have hands on experience opportunities assisting in a variety of Personal Training Services. They will apply all knowledge and experience received to provide a positive member experience that is educational, supporting, and upholds the integrity of the YMCA. Learning objectives are flexible based on the students requirements.Learning Objectives
- Adheres to all YMCA policies, procedures and safety standards.
- Provides fitness floor assistance to all members to ensure safety, provide education, and motivate members
- Fulfills member service requirements such as fitness assessments and equipment operations, service desk duties and fitness equipment cleaning
- Promotes personal training programs and services
- Assist with personal training sessions when appropriate.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the YMCAs Mission & Vision, culture and values in all interactions with clients, coworkers and the general public.
- Weekly connects with supervisor to review progress on weekly objectives and set up actions for the upcoming week
- Member experience & engagement activities
