About this event
We will learn about Zimbabwean music and focus primarily on playing mbira and marimba, drum, sing and do some movement and games! We also have the opportunity to share a bit of what we have learned at the Avis campus in the Winter Concert which happens Friday, January 17 at 6 PM. This is an opportunity to dive deep into Zimbabwean music and culture, as your music teacher lived in Zimbabwe 30 years ago, and is still connected to the culture, to teachers and NEW THIS YEAR! Kelly & her partner Salani have been supporting a primary school in Zimbabwe, so we are hoping to start a digital "pen pal" with these students who are practicing mbira and Zimbabwean music as well.
