Intermediate* $135-$185 Materials and Studio Fees** Develop your personal design sense as we take an all-encompassing look at rings – how to design, compose, create unique stone settings, and imbue them with meaning. Utilizing group discussions followed by individualized guidance, you will design a ring using specific design constraints, and we will cover the steps necessary to build it. Techniques covered will include precision sawing and filing, forging, soldering, flexshaft tips and tricks, hammer-setting stones in thick bezels, and finishing. Participants are encouraged to explore and challenge themselves. Don’t forget to bring magnification – 2X optivisors and/or a 10x loupe are strongly recommended! *Familiarity with the jewelry studio/some jewelry experience required, including soldering, sawing, filing, and riveting. **Materials and studio fees are charged to students based on studio usage and materials Touchstone is providing at the request of the instructor. Additionally, some instructors may also require that you bring certain materials and tools with you, in which case a list will be provided. Final cost of these fees will be posted at least two weeks ahead of the workshop to be paid in full prior to check-in.
